STUDIO-SCHOLARSHIP in SUZHOU/CHINA
Photo: Susanne Hammer

From November 2015 to January 2016, I had the wonderful opportunity to live, work and travel in China for three months as part of my studio scholarship in Suzhou, China 2015/16. It was sponsored by the Arts Section of the Austrian Federal Chancellery and the Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute in the context of the ‘International & Exchange Cooperation’. Staying at the Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute made it possible for me to communicate aspects of my work to local jewelry students in the form of a lecture and workshop. I was also able to pursue my own projects and learn about traditional Chinese handicraft techniques. Subsequently, I travelled to the north and south of China.
