TEX-TEIL / 2007

The pieces Tex-teil of 2007 follow the cut-outs of 2005: t-shirts, where a part or the whole collar has been cut out and attached onto a metal chain. Only when you wear this chain around your neck, the t-shirt is complete and thus becomes an ideal combination of jewelry and fashion. Garment and accessory totally complement each other. The original desconstruction of a garment, which finally becomes complete again, is continued in Tex-teil in a different way. The straps of tops and neckholders are cut off making the tops unwearable. The setting which is connected to the straps ( and this is the precondition for functioning as a piece of jewelry) becomes a necklace which can be worn in an astounding variety of ways. The sewn-in labels refer to the original garment and catch the eye. Fashion has been turned into jewelry. The original connection between chain and top is documented by a series of photographs and shows various possibilites of wearing it.
